The State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Minister Balaam, has raised serious concerns regarding Chosen Becky’s recent public statements about her children. Balaam, who is responsible for overseeing issues related to children, has warned that the Ministry will take action if the situation escalates further.

The controversy began when Chosen Becky revealed in a recent video that she was considering changing the names of her children from a previous relationship to match the name of her new husband, Ssekajja.

According to Becky, she wants her children’s names to reflect the presence of a caring father figure in their lives, following her marriage to Ssekajja. This idea, however, has drawn criticism from Minister Balaam, who believes Becky’s proposal is a violation of the children’s rights.

In an official response, Balaam stated that children are born to two parents, both a father and a mother, and traditionally take their names from their father’s tribe or clan. He argued that while mothers play a crucial role in their upbringing, they do not have the authority to unilaterally change their children’s names without the consent of the father.

Children are born to two parents, father and mother, and the children take names from the father’s tribe/clan.

So, the children belong to the man, and the woman helps to take care of them. What she’s suggesting about changing their names is something she has no right to do.

Additionally, this situation follows a previous controversy in which Becky’s children were reportedly seen holding placards criticizing their biological father, Dictator Amir.

The Ministry has already summoned Becky to appear before them next week to explain why she involved her children in such an act, which the Ministry describes as exposing them to public abuse and unnecessary scrutiny.
