The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) has officially launched its 2026 application process, catering to ambitious African graduates aiming to become industry leaders in film and television production. The nine-month training program is fully funded and accredited, offering a unique hybrid model that combines online learning with in-person sessions at regional academies across Kenya, Nigeria, and Zambia.

African filmmakers from 14 countries will benefit from hands-on training, networking opportunities, and industry exposure, equipping them to succeed in Africa's rapidly evolving film industry. The program aims to bridge the gap between creative talent and professional success.

Since its inception in 2018, MTF has successfully trained 296 filmmakers, with graduates producing over 42 films to date. Participants receive mentorship from industry experts and gain insight into both the artistic and business aspects of filmmaking.

As part of the program, students are required to produce their own film projects, which are showcased on DStv, GOtv channels, including Maisha Magic, Zambezi Magic, and Africa Magic, as well as the streaming platform Showmax.

MTF alumni have achieved notable success, securing opportunities within the MultiChoice ecosystem and contributing to major African productions. Over 50 production companies have been established by former participants, further solidifying their impact on the industry.

Graduates have earned recognition at esteemed platforms such as the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA), Kalasha Awards, Uganda Film Festival, and Women in Film Awards. They also frequently collaborate with international creatives and participate in global industry markets, including the European Film Market and Durban FilmMart.

Applications for the 2026 intake are now open, closing on February 27, 2026. Don't miss this opportunity to join the ranks of MTF's successful alumni and shape the future of African film and television production.
