Roko Construction Ltd has been recognized as Contractor of the Year at the 2025 Uganda Construction Excellence Awards (UCEA), a testament to their dedication to quality and professionalism.

The prestigious award was presented by the Uganda National Association of Builders, Suppliers and Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC) during a ceremony held at the Imperial Royale Hotel on December 12.

The awards celebrate outstanding achievements in innovation, professionalism, quality, and sustainable practices within Uganda’s construction sector. In response to this recognition, Roko's chairman and managing director Mark Koehler stated that it reflects their company's long-standing commitment to excellence.

Koehler emphasized the importance of careful planning, continuous improvement, and adherence to international standards in achieving this success. He also revealed plans to undertake larger and more complex infrastructure projects in the coming year.

"Our focus remains on delivering reliable, high-quality infrastructure that meets client expectations and supports Uganda's development," Koehler added.

The company attributes its consistent performance to strong in-house capacity and a focus on training technicians and craftsmen. In 2025, Roko completed several major national projects, including the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Jinja and the new ministry of Finance headquarters.

Work continues to advance on other key projects, such as the Parliament building and the National Planning Authority's Planning House. These projects underscore Roko's ongoing role in developing Uganda's infrastructure across multiple sectors.
